Petey USA Announces North American Tour
The series of shows is in support of his recently-released third record ‘The Yips’ and features support from Alex Cameron.

Petey USA has announced a North American tour behind his recent album The Yips. “Gonna play a bunch of songs off of the new album and also a ton from Lean Into Life and USA,” he said, in reference to his 2021 and 2023 albums, respectively.
The tour begins August 29 at Columbus, Ohio’s Newport Music Hall and wraps up November 6 at The Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington. Alex Cameron will be along for the ride as a special guest. Along the way, they will stop at New York City’s Webster Hall (October 13), Los Angeles’ The Wiltern (October 29), and San Francisco’s The Fillmore (November 1). Per Petey USA, some cities will feature tailgates, to be announced in the future. There is a VIP ticket option that includes a private pre-show experience featuring an intimate acoustic performance.
The Yips is Petey’s third studio album, via Capitol Records. Produced by Chris Walla, formerly of Death Cab for Cutie, the concept album unfolds in a fictional dive bar with each song representing a different table of patrons engaged in a heart-to-heart talk. The record includes the single “As Two People Drift Apart,” which features a video co-starring influencer/gamer/model Vince Hacker.
The record’s title comes from sports parlance, in which “the yips” refers to performance anxiety. On the album, Petey applies this turn of phrase to the anxieties of everyday life. “The album’s about going through a period where just nothing’s clicking,” the Michigan-born, Los Angeles-based, genre-mashing dynamo explains, “so you go to a bar where everyone can collect themselves and get drunk.”
Working with Walla on the record was a life-long dream for Petey: “[Death Cab For Cutie’s] one of the few bands whose discography I know inside and out,” he says, “I’ve watched documentaries on how he made Death Cab records like Transatlanticism. So he was my number one choice.”
