The album will arrive as a 2LP with a gatefold and deluxe cover art printed on a foil board. The lacquers were cut by Levi Seitz at Black Belt Mastering using 24-bit/192 kHz flat masters vinyl plated and pressed at R.T.I. Additionally, a 45 RPM audiophile pressing will be available on translucent orange and emerald vinyl. The album will be held in rice paper record sleeves. Other bonus items include a 2’ x 3’ wall poster of the original cover art painting by Frank Frazetta. Each edition is individually numbered and the release is limited to 3,000 copies.

Twenty years after their debut reinvigorated the rock world, Wolfmother continues to channel the best part of the past to push the future forward. “Their sound is a throwback to 1970s hard rock — miles of galloping riffs, noodling organ, and guitar fuzz,” Pitchfork wrote of their incendiary debut, adding that they “strike a balance between meaty vintage metal and crisp, stoner-rock melodies.”

The scorching, punishing “Woman” is as dance floor-ready as it is aggressive, while “Colossal” channels Tony Iommi’s greatest riffs and Ozzy Osbourne’s demonic howl. “White Unicorn” filters classic Led Zeppelin through a psychedelic bridge. Elsewhere, “Mind’s Eye” highlights frontman Andrew Stockdale’s love of mystical lyricism and prog-metal’s more exploratory paths.

All of this adds up to one of the best rock albums of the 2000s and it’s easy to see why Lars Ulrich said he listened to it “every day” when it was first released.

While Wolfmother was a sensation in the United States, it was also a massive hit in the band’s home country of Australia upon its release. It entered the ARIA Top 40 at its peak position of No.3, and featured in the charts until mid-2007, by which time it had been certified platinum five times over.
