A new streaming channel will deliver music fans more than just their favorite songs and videos. Launched by an esteemed team of industry insiders, including Yoko Ono, Janie Hendrix, and music critic Greg Kot, The Coda Collection will offer extensive music programming, alongside documentaries, rare concert footage, and films. The channel, which launches on February 18, will be available exclusively via Amazon Prime Video.

Fans can look forward to a wealth of insightful programming, including Music, Money, Madness… Jimi Hendrix In Maui, The Rolling Stones On The Air, Johnny Cash At San Quentin, Miranda Lambert: Revolution Live By Candlelight, and Bob Dylan’s Trouble No More – all of which are part of the initial rollout of 150 titles.

Subscribers will also have access to a forthcoming, authorized Dave Grohl documentary, as well performances by such varied artists as Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Avett Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and AC/DC. Rare and archival content will include footage of Marvin Gaye, the Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters, and Hendrix.

The Coda Collection will also include an editorial component, helmed by Kot, via the channel’s website. According to a statement, this content will give subscribers deeper insight into Coda’s programming, offering “new perspectives on the artists, the music, and the cultural context that makes those moments resonate with audiences around the world.”

The service, which will cost subscribers $4.99 per month, was named for the multimedia company that Hendrix’s sister, Janie, and Ono established, alongside CEO Jim Spinello, entertainment lawyer Jonas Herbsman, and director/producer John McDermott, who has helmed numerous projects revolving around Jimi Hendrix.

“[The Coda Collection] transcends basic music streaming and takes fans on a real journey into the heart of the songs they love and the artists, like Jimi Hendrix, who created those songs,” explained Janie Hendrix in a statement.

“There will always be the desire to know more about Jimi, and what drove his creativity. So much went into his concerts and performances. There was background, a backstory, and depth to it all. Coda reveals all the various dimensions, and I’m proud to be a part of making it happen.”

Yoko Ono added, “John [Lennon] was always on the cutting edge of music and culture. The Coda Collection will be a new way for fans to connect on a deeper level.”
