The Chemical Brothers To Headline 2019 All Points East Festival
The festival’s sold-out 2018 debut that included headline shows from stars Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The National, LCD Soundsystem and more.
The Chemical Brothers are to headline next year’s All Points East Festival, it has been announced. The pioneering electronic group will take to the stage on the first day of the music event in east London, which runs from 24 May to 2 June 2019.
Other artists on the bill include Hot Chip, Primal Scream, Little Dragon and Spiritualized, with more acts to be announced.
All Points East is returning to Tower Hamlets’ Victoria Park for a second year, following a sold-out 2018 debut that included headline shows from stars such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The National, LCD Soundsystem, Bjork and The xx.
Jim King, executive vice president of live music at AEG Presents, said: “We are thrilled to be returning to Victoria Park for a second year with an artist bill as exciting as our first year.
“We’re expanding our programme of midweek entertainment and again working alongside some of the best local suppliers to produce an incredible ten days of entertainment with something for everyone.”
Featuring free access to the All Points East site, the In The Neighbourhood community-focused event will also return with a midweek programme of activities and entertainment, in collaboration with the local community, businesses, organisations and suppliers. Attractions will include outdoor cinema, live music and entertainment, street food, pop-up bars, theatre, arts, sports & wellbeing and children’s activities.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, The Chemical Brothers released a new track entitled ‘Free Yourself’ in September, which arrived just days before the duo played two sold-out shows at London’s Alexandra Palace. Later this month, The Chemical Brothers are set to play at the Corona Capital in Mexico City on 17 November.
Since their 1995 debut the Manchester duo have become pioneers of the big beat genre alongside legends Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy. They’ve also had huge commercial success including scoring six UK No. 1 albums and much-acclaimed headlining slots at festivals across the UK and beyond, including their hometown’s Parklife Festival.
