Chicano Batman Announce 2021 Tour Dates
The tour starts October 20 at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
LA’s Chicano Batman is finally returning to the stage this fall with a 22-date tour across the U.S. in the fall and winter of 2021.
The tour kicks off on October 20 at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, NM, and wraps on December 18 at Minneapolis’ First Avenue and includes dates at New York’s Webster Hall and a hometown concert at LA’s Shrine Expo Hall.
The tour is the band’s first since the 2020 release of their acclaimed full-length Invisible People. Chicano Batman will be joined by openers Inner Wave for each date; Crumb will also open the LA and San Francisco shows.
During 2020’s quarantine, Chicano Batman brought their new music to life via a socially distant performance of their single “Color my life” for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and an NPR Tiny Desk (Home) concert, of which NPR said, “Even as they each perform in their home music spaces, they can’t avoid bringing it all together to give us a Chicano Batman performance that grooves hard and brings a smile to our faces.” Later in the year, the band came together to perform a visually stunning audience-less concert at LA’s famed Hollywood Bowl.
Invisible People was released in 2020 to unanimous praise from Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone, The LA Times, The Fader, and many more. The album featured Chicano Batman’s idiosyncratic blend of psych, soul, and hip-hop and their critical and conscientious examination of racism, immigration, and classism
