Mrs. Green Apple Reaches 10 Billion Streams
The J-pop trio has 25 songs that have accumulated 100 million streams, including the recent No. 1 ‘Darling’.
Mrs. Green Apple has become the first J-Pop group to reach 10 billion total streams in Japan. Per Billboard Japan, the group has 25 songs that have accumulated 100 million streams, including “Ao to Natsu,” “Tenbyou no Uta feat. Sonoko Inoue,” “Dance Hall,” and “Lilac,” which recently became the third-fastest song to surpass 600 million streams in Japan. The pop-rock trio is composed of Motoki Omori, Hiloto Wakai, and Ryoka Fujisawa.
On July 8, Mrs. Green Apple is set to drop a best-of anniversary album titled 10. The date marks the 10th anniversary of the band’s debut. The group will perform at a series of headline outdoor shows on July 26 and 27 called MGA Magical 10 Years Anniversary Live ~Fjord~. The special performances at Yokohama’s Yamashita Pier are set to attract 100,000 fans over the two days.
The band’s biggest domestic tour to date, Mrs. Green Apple Dome Tour 2025 “Babel no Toh,” will make stops in five dome-sized venues across Japan from October to December, and is expected to draw crowds of 550,000.
Billboard Japan recently spoke to Mrs. Green Apple in honor of their domination of three charts, the all-genre Japan Hot 100 song chart, the Hot Albums tally, and the Artist 100 list compiled from the sum of the former two. Per Omori: “I think the best way to experience the latest Mrs. Green Apple is at one of our live shows, so I hope everyone will enjoy our energy to the fullest. I’m just looking forward to meeting many people. I want to express my gratitude directly to the people who support us so much, so I hope we’ll have more opportunities to do so. Everything is going to be fun, so I really hope people will enjoy it from the bottom of their hearts without hesitation. That’s all I can say.”
