On the heels of the Black Sabbath farewell tour and retirement, Ozzy Osbourne has announced new tour dates for a sprawling solo tour, No More Tours 2, that kicks off this April in the US that will celebrate five decades of The Prince Of Darkness.

Named after his previous “retirement” tour dubbed No More Tours in the 90s, Osbourne starts his global trek in Jacksonville, Florida then heads to Mexico, South America, Europe, Canada and back to the states with a closing show in Las Vegas in October. Tickets for the North American leg go on sale 17 February with pre-sales on Valentine’s Day (14 February). Given the tour’s title, Osbourne spoke with Rolling Stone after many fans feared his retirement.

“I’m not retiring”, Osbourne said. “It’s ‘No More Tours’, so I’m just not doing world tours anymore. I’m still going to be doing gigs, but I’m not going on tour for six months at a time anymore. I’d like to spend some time at home.”

With another grandchild in the Osbourne clan, Ozzy told the magazine he wants to spend less time on the road and more time with his family.

“I’ve experienced fantastic things; it’s been an incredible journey”, he said. “I just need to slow it down a little. I enjoy being a grandfather. I don’t want to go through another generation of Osbournes without seeing them grow up.”

As for what’s in store for his live shows Osbourne even hinted at a setlist, mentioning fan favourites such as ‘Paranoid’, ‘Crazy’, ”Mama, I’m Coming Home’, ‘No More Tears’ and even ‘Waiting For Darkness’ from his 1983 album, Bark At The Moon, which he’s never performed live.

Joining him on tour is longtime guitar sideman, Zakk Wylde, bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman. While his days with Sabbath are behind him, Osbourne is excited to have more creative control over his touring show and even potentially recording new music, mentioning he has “eight or nine good song ideas” in the works. In typical Ozzy fashion, he hinted at what fans can expect on the coming tour saying:

“If you know an Ozzy Osbourne concert, you know I don’t stand there with my thumb up my butt. I’m rock & roll. The more fun that [the fans] have, the more fun I have.”
