Return of Four Folk-Rock Classics

Published on

Four landmark records of British folk-rock from the famous vaults of Island are getting the lavish reissue treatment from Universal Music Catalogue.

July 21 will see the UK release on vinyl, in UMC’s Back 2 Black series, of the quartet of titles, which originally appeared between 1967 and 1974. They are John Martyn’s 1967 debut set ‘London Conversation,’ Fairport Convention’s ‘Liege & Lief,’ from 1969, Sandy Denny’s 1971 album ‘The North Star Grassman and the Ravens’ and Richard and Linda Thompson’s ‘I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight,’ first released in 1974.

All four albums have been mastered from the original analogue tapes by Paschal Byrne at the Audio Archive Company in London. They’re pressed on high quality, 180grm vinyl and each comes with a free Digital Download Voucher. Each will feature all the original artwork, and the Fairport and Sandy Denny records both have gatefold sleeves.
