Lang Lang Releases Basketball World Cup Single
Lang Lang performed at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Opening Ceremony and released his single ‘Heaven In Ceaseless Motion, Human in Constant Exertion’.
Lang Lang performed at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Opening Ceremony, at Beijing’s iconic Water Cube, broadcast to over a billion people across the world. He was joined by artists of the China National Peking Opera Company, wearing traditional costume and masks, as well as musicians performing on Chinese instruments.
The piece they performed at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Opening Ceremony, ‘Heaven In Ceaseless Motion, Human in Constant Exertion’, is now available digitally. The arrangement, by Zhu Jiang and Guo Susite from ancient Chinese melodies, blends the sound of Lang Lang’s piano with traditional Chinese instruments and voices. The lyrics are by Jia Ding, director of the opening ceremony. The FIBA Basketball World Cup is the flagship event of the International Basketball Federation. This year’s tournament will be the biggest yet with a record 32 participating teams. In its 18th edition, the FIBA Basketball World Cup will take place in China for the first time ever. The tournament will be played in 8 cities across 5 provinces, with 92 games played over 16 days.
