The Wanted has shared a video for its cover of East 17’s classic festive hit, “Stay Another Day”, backed by three string players.

The cover of the Christmas classic appeared on the band’s greatest hits collection Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits, which was released in November.

The iconic British boyband has now released a visual accompaniment for the track, which finds them performing in a room filled with candles and a sparkling Christmas tree. The camera pans across the members, who give heartfelt deliveries of the track’s emotional lyrics from a row of stools.

The Wanted’s version of East 17’s unintentional holiday hit was produced by Tim Powell and Jonas Jalhay and gives a faithful update to the 1994 original. The track was penned by East 17’s Tony Mortimer about the passing of his brother, but became a Yuletide staple thanks to its winter release and video featuring the London group braving a snowstorm while dressed in oversized white parkas.

Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits arrived last month and celebrated The Wanted’s 12-year career so far. It featured some of the band’s biggest hits, including the likes of “All Time Low”, “Glad You Came” and “Chasing The Sun”, as well as the brand new single “Rule The World”, which was its first new material in seven years.

The compilation far from signals the end of the reunited group’s journey. Next year, The Wanted will head out on a 12-date arena tour of the UK, visiting venues in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle, Leeds, London, Brighton, and more along the way. More information and tickets to the tour can be found on the band’s official website.

The tour follows the band’s first performance in seven years, which took place at the iconic London venue the Royal Albert Hall in September. The appearance was part of singer Tom Parker’s charity concert Stand Up To Cancer: Inside My Head, which also featured Ed Sheeran, KSI, Liam Payne, McFly, Sigrid, and Becky Hill, and raised money for Stand Up To Cancer and the National Brain Appeal.
