Lola Young Announces New Album, ‘I’m Only F*cking Myself’
The third album from the ‘Messy’ singer will arrive on September 19.

Lola Young is almost ready to share her third studio album. The singer announced I’m Only F*cking Myself, out officially on September 19. In an Instagram post, Young referred to the album as “My ode to self sabotage, my chance to claw myself back from the edge of defeat,” themes she’s become well-known for exploring after achieving global stardom with her hit single “Messy.” Young’s famous sense of humor is also on display in the cover art, which shows her holding a blow up doll that also has her face on it.
Today, Young released the second single from I’m Only F*cking Myself, “Not Like That Anymore.” Young shared a teaser clip of the song earlier this week on Instagram, which shows her hula-hooping while singing lyrics about quitting drugs and a toxic ex. Her first single from the album, “One Thing,” which she released back in May, taps into a bit of 90s rock and sees Young speaking in no uncertain terms about her sexual desires.
Over the course of 2024 and 2025, Young shot to global stardom buoyed in part by the success of “Messy,” which charted all over the world and earned a songwriting nomination at the 2025 Ivors Awards. Young’s frankness and fearlessness in addressing topics like mental health and tough relationships have earned her legions of fans. Young called “Messy” an “ADHD anthem,” and said it was inspired by a bad romantic relationship, her relationship with herself, and her family life in an interview with Capital FM.
While it may look from the outside like Young’s success came overnight, she was careful to say that she has been working at becoming a musician for most of her life. She began playing instruments and writing songs as a child, and released her first album, My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely, in 2023. But given the whirlwind experience that has been Young’s last couple of years, she should have plenty to write about on I’m Only F*cking Myself.
