Quavo and Lenny Kravitz have joined forces for a dynamic new single. “FLY” is a reimagined version of Kravitz’s 1998 track “Fly Away.” The track samples the original song’s iconic riff and features newly recorded vocals from Kravitz. “Put some feathers on my drip ’cause I’m fly,” the duo sing. “Diamonds twinkle every time I’m outside/They almost brighter than the stars and the ice.”

The pair appear together in the song’s black-and-white video, directed by Jake Nava. In the visual, Quavo and Kravitz perform the song in a hangar-like space decked out with massive speakers. Quavo’s new white cognac, White X, created in partnership with Sazerac, also has a cameo.

Earlier this year, Quavo honored Kravitz at a Black Music Collective event, where Kravitz accepted a Global Impact Award. At the event, Quavo—alongside George Clinton, Earth, Wind & Fire’s Verdine White, and Andrew Watt, one of the producers on “Fly” —performed “Fly Away,” which eventually led to the new single. Cirkut, known for his work with Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and The Weeknd, also co-produces “FLY.”

“Fly Away” originally appeared on Kravitz’s 1998 album 5. It peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Performance.

Earlier this summer, Quavo teamed up with Lana Del Rey for the Hot 100 hit “Tough.” The Grammy-nominated Migos rapper recently appeared at an Atlanta rally for Vice President Kamala Harris. Quavo’s most recent solo record was 2023’s Rocket Power, which was led by the singles “Greatness” and “Turn Yo Clic Up”, a collaboration with Future.

Back in May, Kravitz released his latest album, Blue Electric Light. The album features the singles “TK421” and “Human.” The four-time Grammy-winning rock icon will showcase the record this fall at a Las Vegas Residency. The shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM span five nights, with Kravitz performing on October 18, 19, 23, 25, and 26.
