Soccer Mommy Announces 2021 Tour

Singer-songwriter Soccer Mommy ( aka Sophie Allison) has announced new tour dates for 2021. The North American shows begin in September and stretch into November; Emily Reo and Squirrel Flower are set to support.

Many of the shows have been rescheduled from 2020, and tickets to the previous gigs will be honored on these new dates.

The Nashville native’s most recent album color theory was released in February 2020 to critical acclaim, but its accompanying tour was postponed due to the pandemic. color theory was the follow-up to her breakout debut album Clean, which was released in 2018.

Last fall, Allison also shared previously unreleased demos from the album, color theory (selected demos), which included a collection of early versions of her singles, as well as a new video.

The album was split into three dimensions all tied to color. Blue is meant to symbolize sadness and depression, whereas yellow represents physical and emotional illness and gray represents darkness, emptiness, and loss.

In October of 2020, Soccer Mommy released the music video for her single “Crawling In My Skin” from color theory. The grainy, technicolor video was directed by Adam Kolodny and depicts the singer strumming her guitar through trippy, warping clips.

She also performed her first full band show of 2020 for Capital One City Parks Foundation’s SummerStage digital series on November 19.
