DJ turned electronic artist Porter Robinson is making waves with his much-anticipated debut album ‘Worlds,’ which was released on Monday (August 11) internationally and the next day in North America by Astralwerks and Virgin EMI. On Friday morning (15), the album stood at No. 3 on iTunes’ electronic chart in the UK.
22-year-old Robinson, from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has made his name with numerous singles since as far back as 2010, both in his own name (as on last year’s iTunes dance chart No. 1 ‘Language’), as a writer on such hits as Zedd’s ‘Clarity,’ and as a remixer for artists like Avicii and Deadmau5.
The album includes ‘Lionhearted,’ the track featuring Urban Cone which became BBC Radio 1 presenter Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record In The World,’ as well as ‘Sea Of Voices,’ which trended No. 1 on Facebook on release. It also includes ‘Sad Machine’ and ‘Flicker,’ both of which went to No. 1 on Hype Machine. This is the brand new video for ‘Flicker’:
Robinson has a massive world tour lined up, beginning in Vancouver on August 28, with North American dates running all the way until October 18. Then on October 30, he begins the European leg at Koko in London, followed by dates in six other European countries, after which come five dates in Australia in late November and early December.
