Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Leon Thomas Among Top 2026 Grammy Nominees
The 2026 Grammy Awards will be held on February 1st at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
Grammys season is just around the corner, and the 2026 nominees have been announced. Kendrick Lamar is 2026’s top nominee with nine nominations, followed closely by Lady Gaga with seven, and Sabrina Carpenter, Leon Thomas, and Bad Bunny all with six.
As 2025’s top winner, Kendrick Lamar could possibly leave the 2026 Grammy Awards with an even bigger haul. “Luther,” his collaboration with SZA, is nominated for both record and song of the year, while GNX is up for album of the year. Kendrick is one of four artists to be nominated in all three top categories, alongside Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, and Sabrina Carpenter.
Gaga’s previous Grammy record was six nominations in 2010, and she now boasts a total of 45 nominations across her career. She has the potential to take home the year’s three biggest awards, with nominations in record and song of the year for “Abracadabra” and album of the year for MAYHEM.
Carpenter is nominated for record and song of the year for “Manchild,” and album of the year for Man’s Best Friend. She also scored nominations for best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album after taking home both awards last year. Though she won big in the pop categories, Carpenter lost 2025’s best new artist award to fellow pop sensation Chappell Roan. As for Roan, her 90s-inspired single “The Subway” grabbed two nominations.
The breakout star of the 2026 batch of best new artist nominees is undoubtedly Leon Thomas, who scored an album of the year nomination for his record Mutt. Other best new artist nominees include Katseye, Lola Young, and Olivia Dean.
Many wondered whether or not “Golden,” the breakout single from Kpop Demon Hunters, would land any major nominations, and the question has been answered with a song of the year nod. “Golden” is also nominated for best pop duo/group performance and best song written for visual media. Though they may be fictional, HUNTR/X has become the first K-Pop girl group to be nominated for song of the year.
Other artists to earn multiple nominations include Justin Bieber, Doechii, KAYTRANADA (for SPACE INVADER and his remix of Mariah Carey’s “Don’t Forget About Us”) and Elton John. Nick Drake, meanwhile, earned his first nomination. The Making Of Five Leaves Left has been nominated for Best Historical Album.
