BTS revealed the exciting news during a recent interview on the Korean live-stream app, V LIVE. “We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible. Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans.”

The South Korean boy band also gave fans a few hints about what they can expect from “Dynamite.” They shared that the song “is upbeat and sung in English, just like ‘MIC Drop’ and ‘Waste It On Me.’ We thought that the song sounded perfect as it is in English. We recorded the guide version and felt that the result was something totally new and fresh.”

They added, “When we first heard and recorded the song, we were energized and our spirits were lifted up. We can’t wait to share this song with you all and enjoy it together.”

Most recently, BTS dropped their fourth Japanese language album, Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey. Since its release, the album debuted at No.1 in Japan and broke records for the highest first day of sales in the country – both by a foreign act and a Korean artist. Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ also stands as Japan’s best-selling album of 2020 to-date.

BTS is also dominating the Billboard World Albums chart, with Map Of The Soul : 7 ~ The Journey ~ currently sitting at the No.4 spot. The septet has a whopping total of eight releases on the chart, including the original Korean edition of their latest release, Map of the Soul: 7, at No.1, and their 2018 compilation, Love Yourself: Answer at No.2.

On Friday, August 7, various physical editions of Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey will also be available.
