Cuco Announces ‘Fantasy Gateway,’ Shares Single And Video ‘Caution’
‘Fantasy Gateway’ is due July 22 via Interscope Records.
After teasing his evolving sound via a string of singles last year, Cuco is back to announce his sophomore album Fantasy Gateway due July 22.
To coincide with the album’s announcement, Cuco shared the lead single “Caution,” which arrives with animated visuals created by Grin Machine following Cuco’s journey within. The 12 track project opens a new chapter for Cuco and includes features from Kacey Musgraves and Adriel Favela. Fantasy Gateway is also available on vinyl and CD for pre-order.
Cuco also shared the meaning behind the single: “‘Caution’ is a song that talks about going through different mental health issues and not wanting to bombard the people around you with your problems, so you just keep them to yourself, but sometimes putting all that weight on yourself results in a feeling of being out of control when everything explodes.”
Along with Fantasy Gateway’s announcement, Cuco shared his upcoming summer 2022 tour dates. After performances at Primavera in Spain and Viva Festival in Los Angeles this June, Cuco will embark on his North American headlining tour beginning in Phoenix on August 14 with stops in Boston, Brooklyn, and Atlanta before wrapping up with a show in Dallas on September 2.
Cuco’s album and tour announcement follow his collaborative single with boy pablo, “La Novela” released earlier this year along with the 2021 singles “Under the Sun,” which arrived with a performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, as well as “Paradise” and “Forevermore.”
Additionally, the announcements follow Cuco’s re-imagination of Bobby Capó’s classic “Piel Canela” which was originally featured as part of a broadcast Google ad campaign and is quickly climbing with over 40M streams across platforms and counting.
