Doro Pesch’s ‘Force Majeure’ Set To Return On Vinyl
The pioneering female metal icon’s acclaimed debut will be back in a stunning picture disc edition from July 25.

European female metal icon Doro Pesch’s acclaimed debut solo album Force Majeure, originally released by Vertigo Records in February 1989, is set to be reissued as a stunning vinyl picture disc on July 25.
Force Majeure is widely regarded as Pesch’s most seminal solo album. After her groundbreaking success as the lead singer of the legendary hard rock band Warlock (“All We Are,“ “I Rule The Ruins,“ “Fur Immer” and many more) Force Majeure marked the beginning of Pesch’s solo career in the late 1980s. Over the course of the following decades, she became the female German metal icon.
The songs from Force Majeure are generally more oriented to radio-friendly glam metal than to the European power metal of Doro’s earlier works and its tracklist includes her inimitable version of Procol Harum’s legendary 1967 hit “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” in addition to lauded self-penned hits such as “World Gone Wild” and “Hard Times.”
Force Majeure was recorded in the US and produced by Joey Balin. Bass player Tommy Henriksen, who was part of the last line-up of Warlock also played on the record. The line-up was completed by drummer Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Scorpions, Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult,) and guitarist Jon Levin, whose name was incorrectly reported as Jon Devin on the original album sleeve.
On its initial release, Force Majeure went Top 5 in Pesch’s native Germany, where it also recently received a gold certification. Now, it will again be available as a stunning picture vinyl in a strictly limited edition for the first time ever. It is an absolute must-have for all hard rock and heavy metal aficionados from all over the globe.
