An impressive array of artists including Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Margo Price and Drive-By Truckers will be playing on the fourth annual Outlaw Country Cruise in January 2019.
The expedition, once again run by Steve Van Zandt’s Renegade Circus and Sixthman, who organise the Americana and country-based Cayamo Cruise, will sail from Tampa to Great Stirrup Cay and on to Nassau in the Bahamas. The Norwegian Pearl will be at sea from 27 January – 1 February.
A total of some 35 artists will be on the cruise, performing multiple sets in a total of five venues, including at the cruise’s signature SiriusXM Sessions at Sea. These will be broadcast on SiriumXM Outlaw Country. There will also be special collaborations, autograph sessions and artist-hosted activities. Williams and Earle, performing with his band the Dukes, are staples of the cruise, and will be appearing for the fourth consecutive time; this year, the event welcomes first-time participants Price, Drive-By Truckers and the Flatlanders, featuring Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock.
Also aboard OCC 4 will be Jim Lauderdale, Country Music Hall of Fame member Bobby Bare, Laura Cantrell, Shooter Jennings, Webb Wilder, Old 97s, Elizabeth Cook, Rosie Flores, Roger Alan Wade, Mojo Nixon, former Georgia Satellites frontman Dan Baird with his current band Homemade Sin, the Mastersons, Dale Watson and his Lone Stars and others.
The first Outlaw Country Cruise sailed in February 2016 and starred Williams, Earle, Blackberry Smoke, the Mavericks, Black Oak Arkansas among many more. 2017 guests included rockabilly original Wanda Jackson, while Rodney Crowell was among this year’s roll call, which played to a sellout cruise audience of 2,500.
The Norwegian Pearl also offers multiple bars and lounges, a spa, pool, hot tubs, a fitness centre with floor-to-ceiling windows and a casino.More information about the 2019 event is available here.
