Metallica Announces Special Pressings Of Studio Albums On Colored Vinyl
Strictly limited editions of the band’s first five albums will be issued between November 2023 and March 2024.
Metallica has announced plans to press its’ first five studio albums on special limited edition colored vinyl, available ex-North America. Each month from November 2023 to March 2024 will see a new title/colorway being released. Each title will also include a digital download code.
The first drop includes new editions of Metallica’s first five studio albums, opening with Kill ‘Em All, the band’s ground-breaking album will be released on Nov 3, 2023 pressed on 180g ‘Jump In The Fire Engine Red’ vinyl, featuring the 2016 remastered audio.
Ride The Lightning, Metallica’s 6 x Platinum sophomore album will be released on Dec 1, 2023 pressed on 180g ‘Electric Blue’ vinyl, also featuring the 2016 remastered audio.
Metallica’s widely-hailed third album Master of Puppets, selected by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” will be released on Jan 5, 2024 pressed on 180g ‘Battery Brick’ colored vinyl, featuring the 2017 remastered audio.
…And Justice For All featuring the single “One” which earned the band its first Grammy award will be released Feb 2, 2024 as a double-disc set pressed on 180g ‘Dyers Green’ vinyl, featuring the 2018 remastered audio.
Finally, the band’s self-titled fifth album Metallica (aka the Black Album), the first Metallica album to reach No.1 in the charts, becoming the band’s best-selling album, will be released on March 1, 2024 as a two-disc set pressed on 180g ‘Some Blacker Marbled’ vinyl, featuring the 2021 remastered audio.
Earlier this year, the band scored a UK number one album with their latest studio record 72 Seasons, dominating the charts globally as they racked up an impressive 19 number 1’s across the world.
