Beyoncé’s 11 nominations for COWBOY CARTER made her the most-nominated artist at this year’s event, bringing her career total to 99. Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone each notched seven, with Lamar’s anthem “Not Like Us” up for Song of the Year and Eilish in the running for all three of the night’s biggest awards: Album of the Year (Hit Me Hard And Soft), Record of the Year, and Song of the Year (“Birds of a Feather”). She won Song of the Year in 2024 for Barbie: The Album’s “What Was I Made For?” Taylor Swift is also up for all three major categories, following up her 2024 Album of the Year win for Midnights with six nominations for The Tortured Poets Department and “Fortnight.”

Nominated for the first time, Chappell Roan’s Dan Nigro-produced “Good Luck, Babe!” is up for Song and Record of the Year—she’s also in the running for Best New Artist. Ariana Grande’s eternal sunshine has her up for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, where she’s nominated for “the boy is mine” with Brandy and Monica. Flexing her own classic R&B muscles, Muni Long is up for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Make Me Forget.”

In the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category, milestone releases from John Lennon (Mind Games) and Nirvana (In Utero) are both up for awards. By way of The Beatles’ nomination for “Now and Then,” Lennon is also up for Record of the Year. In the Best Rock Album category, fellow British icons The Rolling Stones are nominated for Hackney Diamonds.

Jacob Collier’s Djesse Vol. 4 is up for Album of the Year—he’s also nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category alongside Arooj Aftab, who earned a nod for her song “Raaj Ki Rani.” Her album Night Reign is also nominated for Best Alternative Jazz Album alongside the likes of Meshell Ndegleocello and Robert Glasper. Jon Batiste’s “It Never Went Away,” which appeared in his Netflix documentary American Symphony, has the chance to take home Best Song Written for Visual Media. American Symphony is also nominated for Best Music Film, alongside the likes of Steven Van Zandt’s Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple. 12-time Grammy winner John Legend is nominated this year in the Best Children’s album category for My Favorite Dream, and legendary jazz performer Alice Coltrane is up for Best Album Notes.

The Grammys will take place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com arena on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025.
