The trailer for Bradley Cooper’s forthcoming adaptation of A Star Is Born is now available to watch and you can check it out above here. The trailer supplies the first real look at the latest incarnation of the movie. Four time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper (American Sniper, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) directed for the first time, co-wrote and also stars alongside Lady Gaga in a power-couple match-up that takes on the star-crossed, music-driven tale.

Cooper plays Jackson Maine, who discovers — and falls in love with — struggling artist Ally, played by Gaga. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship breaks down as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

The trailer features Cooper in full country gravel voice as Maine — all the music is original and was recorded live. In addition to playing Ally, Gaga, who earned her Oscar nod for the song ‘Til It Happens to You’ from The Hunting Ground, also performs original songs she wrote with Cooper and the likes of Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson.

A Star is Born is being produced by Bill Gerber, Jon Peters, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips and Lynette Howell Taylor; with Basil Iwanyk, Michael Rapino, Heather Parry and Ravi Mehta serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Will Fetters & Bradley Cooper and Eric Roth, based on the 1954 screenplay by Moss Hart and the 1976 screenplay by John Gregory Dunne & Joan Didion and Frank Pierson, based on a story by William Wellman and Robert Carson.

Andrew Dice Clay, Dave Chappelle and Sam Elliott also co-star in the new movie, which opens in US theaters in the brunt of awards season on 5 October.
