Conan Gray Returns With Glittering New Single ‘Telepath’
The singer-songwriter has returned with another mammoth pop anthem.
Conan Gray has returned with another mammoth pop anthem in “Telepath”, his latest new material of 2021.
The track – which marks his fourth piece of new material since his 2020 debut album Kid Krow – was co-written by Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Julia Michaels and Dua Lipa collaborator Caroline Ailin.
On “Telepath,” Gray details the last days of a dying relationship over an 80s-tinged pop hook with the wisdom of someone who’s been in the same situation before. “I gotta feeling you’re coming back just like you have in the past,” he sings. “Yeah, I gotta feeling you’ll be sending me drafts you shoulda left in the drafts.”
The new single follows the multi-platinum-selling musician’s previous releases “Overdrive,” People Watching,” and “Astronomy,” the latter of which drew praise from Taylor Swift. The pop superstar shared the track on her Instagram page, calling it “on another level” and a “masterpiece.”
Gray has also announced an extensive world tour that will kick off next spring with a raft of North American dates, moving taking him to Europe and the UK. The 51-date tour will culminate with a show at London’s Eventim Apollo. Support will come from Bülow in North American and Mallrat in Europe and the UK.
Since the release of Kid Krow in 2020, the rapidly rising Gen Z icon has racked up over 5 billion streams, including multi-platinum hits “Heather” and “Maniac”, and been lauded by household names including Swift and Elton John.
