Andrea Bocelli And Brian May’s Live Duet ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ Is Out Now
The duet was recorded at Tuscany’s ‘Teatro Del Silenzio’ in 2024 and featured in the concert film ‘Andrea Bocelli 30: A Celebration.’

Decca Records and Mercury Studios have released “Who Wants To Live Forever,” the live duet from musical icons Andrea Bocelli and Brian May. The Italian tenor and Queen guitarist performed the song at last year’s three-day concert event in Tuscany honoring Bocelli’s 30th career anniversary. The video of that performance, featured in the 2024 concert film Andrea Bocelli 30: A Celebration, has been posted on YouTube alongside the track’s release.
The duet features Brian on guitar, backed by a full orchestra. The video shows the two artists commanding a crowd of 10,000 at the Teatro del Silenzio (Theater of Silence), a natural amphitheater in Lajatico, Tuscany. “Celebrating the 30th anniversary of my career at Teatro del Silenzio, a place that is so dear to me, with artists and friends was an honor,” Bocelli shared last year. It was Bocelli who petitioned the government to build the Teatro del Silenzio in his hometown of Lajatico, and he contributed to its construction.
May was one of a number of famous guests who duetted with Bocelli at the anniversary concert, including Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Jon Batiste, Brian May, Sofia Vergara, David Foster & Katharine McPhee, Matteo Bocelli, Sofia Carson, Lauren Daigle, and more.
Following last year’s release of Andrea Bocelli 30: A Celebration, a new documentary film titled Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe, is set to release in select cinemas globally on September 21st. The film, directed by Cosima Spencer, is arriving in theaters following its premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
“My aim in this film is to evoke the atmosphere of Andrea’s world,” Spencer shared. “To hear how music permeates every moment of his everyday life, to feel the force of his voice when he’s warming up, to witness his undeniable optimism, and hear him telling a good story in the way he tells it to his oldest friends. It’s been a great privilege to be able to capture this.”
