Wings Announce Career-Spanning Anthology
Paul McCartney personally oversaw the self-titled collection coming this fall.

With Paul McCartney at the helm, Wings released some of the most enduring popular music of the 1970s, not least of all smash hits like “Band on the Run,” “Jet,” and “Live and Let Die.” The group’s stellar career will soon be summed up in WINGS, a new multi-format anthology personally overseen by McCartney.
WINGS will be available in a wide variety of formats, including a 3LP color vinyl collection, an ideal option for longtime fans seeking the deepest possible immersion in their catalog. That deep-dive option is also available in 2CD and Blu-ray formats. Additionally, there will be 1CD and 1LP versions of the collection.
All physical formats come with a booklet featuring an introduction from Sir Paul himself. In the 3LP and 2CD editions, that booklet is expanded to 32 pages filled with photos, artwork, paintings, trivia, and information about the band. McCartney supervised the artwork for the project alongside Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell of the famed design studio Hipgnosis, known for their work on countless classic albums (including quite a few by Wings). The expanded booklet also includes album-by-album notes on the artwork written by Po, with additional writing by Pete Paphides, and features original artwork by Humphrey Ocean, who tagged along on Wings’ 1976 tour as their artist in residence. The Blu-ray version of WINGS marks the first time Wings songs have been available on a physical format in Dolby Atmos.
Paul and Linda McCartney formed Wings in 1971. Paul was still reeling from the breakup of the Beatles, and although his first two solo albums are regarded as restless, exploratory masterworks, he missed the band dynamic. He and Linda assembled what proved to be a formidable unit, capable of following McCartney’s muse toward any genre and bringing his songs vibrantly to life. Wings went on to sell 22 million albums and toured the world many times over. WINGS encapsulates that wildly impressive run.
